Episode 2: Bobby Rush
Bobby Rush visited Audubon in March of 2014 while acting as Rhodes College's "Curb Visiting Scholar in the Arts" during the spring of 2014. During this episode, he talks about his life and career in music through interviews and performances.
Episode 3: Valerie June
Raised in Jackson, Tennessee, Valerie June visited Audubon Drive on October 24, 2014, to talk about moving to Memphis and play music from her newest album 'Pushin' Against A Stone'. She shares stories about her inspirations and journey as she develops her style that she describes as "organic moonshine roots music."
Episode 4: Marcella And her Lovers
Marcella Simien visited Audubon Drive on November 14, 2014, to play her Zydeco-style Louisiana Creole-inspired music and speak about her unique upbringing in the music business. During this episode, she covers a few songs and plays from her EP "The Bronze Age" which had come out just a week before this episode was taped.
Episode 5: Bill Frisell
Bill Frisell visited 1034 Audubon Drive on a snowy night in February of 2015 captivating the audience with his incomparable skill. During this episode, Frisell plays to the heartstrings of everyone in the room, talks about his experiences, and mentions the profound effects he feels being in Elvis' home. Joining him on drums that night was drummer and percussionist Kenny Wollesen.
Episode 6: Preauxx
PreauXX stopped by 1034 Audubon Drive on November 13, 2015, to talk about hip-hop in Memphis, his influences, and his image. This was certainly one of the most energetic shows we've ever had as PreauXX prompted the audience to stand, sing, and dance.
